Robots Are Coming, and You Can’t Stop It!
Artificial intelligence and robotics are on the verge of mass production. It’s only a matter of time before we all have intelligent robots in our houses. A cause for fear or joy?
It’s become glaringly obvious we’re entering the AI and robotic era. Personal AI assistants, mechanical workers, and soulless sex slaves are at the door. Will you let them in?
- “Oh no, we’re all going to be replaced by robots and artificial intelligence.”
- “Robots and artificial intelligence are stealing our jobs!”
- “AI girlfriends are ruining our young, and natality is dropping.”
- “Porn has replaced sex, and now robot girlfriends and boyfriends are going to take over marriage.”
- “The artificial general intelligence will wake up and murder us all!”
I see a lot of similar doomsday-like posts everywhere. Whatever the theme of the day, robots and AI are the ones projected to be responsible for humanity’s downfall. Either that, or AI will be our grand savior. Both extremes are meant to arouse strong emotions and force you to engage. None make much sense.
Here’s what I think about AI and robots in the future
Yes, AI is here, and it will only get better and better.
Sooner or later, it will become more capable than humans. Then again, my computer can calculate a million times faster than me, and my car can travel ten times faster, and I’m still okay. Not just okay, my life has improved drastically by both!

AGI, as in some sentient artificial intelligence, might emerge somewhere down the line.
I hope it does, as I’m curious about its nature, perspective, and ideas. I do not, however, fear it and believe that it will just arbitrarily decide to murder us all because that is purely human projection and nothing else!

I also don’t think it will be some Godlike savior of humanity, but more an extension, a companion, a coexisting new species living in a non-biological world and having very little concern for our problems unless asked for help.
“Robots in every home” will almost certainly happen in the next decade or two, if not sooner.
It was always inevitable since the first science fiction writer imagined it. Yes, they will take some jobs and tasks that are now done by humans. So has every other technological breakthrough thus far, and are we all unemployed and starving yet?
No! In fact, despite all this technology, it would appear we are in dire need of more employees. So much so, that we’re importing them in the millions every year! In fact, you might find yourself grateful for a robot to wipe your ass when you get old, as we’ve all but stopped producing our own offspring for the job.
We will adapt and move on, just like we did with phones, the internet, computers, airplanes, cars, modern medicine, and robotics manufacturing. Just add a friendly robot to your home’s appliances, and you’ve probably got the most likely scenario of the future.
Artificial intelligence lovers are taking over.
AI girlfriends, AI boyfriends, and AI sex toys are actually of greater concern since we’ve gone mostly downhill in our social interactions and natality as well.
Even now, the percentage of young people in developed countries who are still virgins in their thirties is reportedly in the thirty percent range. Males, that is. Ladies have apparently found a way around it, as have alpha males who now have their plates full of horny women, while less confident men play video games and jerk off to porn.
Still, I don’t think turning porn and anime into a walking talking robot will make much of a difference. The men and women who will choose them would otherwise have found some other hobby, like cats, video games, or porn, so there’s no actual loss there.

But natality is dropping, and that’s a problem! I agree.
It’s a temporary problem that will most likely result in drastic changes in our society and economy but will sort itself out sooner or later. If nothing else, only half the world has this problem. The other half are still banging like rabbits and producing multiple children each.

If anyone asked me, I would say go ahead and have kids as soon as possible. Not because you’re trying to save humanity and “do your part,” but because it’s awesome, incredibly rewarding, and nothing comes even close.
The way things are, and if there is no change in the tide, the world will look like a much different place some hundred years from now. But then again, hasn’t it always? And we’re still here, okay (ish), and objectively doing better.
The next evolutionary step for humanity is cybernetics, which integrates biology and technology.
You know, brain chips, mechanical upgrades, a half-robot, half-human sort of thing. Oh no, the horror! So, now what? Now nothing. Technology has, for the most part, but not exclusively, improved our lives and society as a whole. Take it away, and we’ll be back in the dark ages.
Let’s not fool ourselves here! We were no better off before the advent of technology. In fact, we were doing far, far, far worse in every possible aspect except perhaps, and this is debatable, our mental well-being.
People in wheelchairs are effectively part cars, part humans, and the world didn’t end. Modern medicine is based on technology, and now our babies actually mostly survive into adulthood, unlike just decades ago when infant and child mortality was abhorrent!
Artificial intelligence and robots aren’t the problem
But they might be a solution if not exactly “the solution.” The problem has always been and always will be humans ourselves. Technology is just a tool we can use for good or bad, like a showell. You can hit someone you don’t like on the head or dig deep holes for gardening.
Even the inventions of something as horrific as nuclear weapons arguably did more good than bad thus far. Once demonstrated and acquired, we found the motivation to stop fighting en masse, unlike throughout our whole history. Not to mention the near-free, environmentally friendly (yes, do your research — things have changed), and infinitely more efficient nuclear energy options.
As stupid, greedy, power-hungry, fearful, and generally emotional as we are, we have always found a way through everything. We’re resilient, and no other species is quite as adaptive as humans. We’ll be just fine, is what I’m saying, but things will change, as they always do.

Change is good, embrace it, and don’t fear it
Are you usually afraid of change, or do you welcome it? If you are reluctant to accept changes in your life, anything new and unknown will frighten you. It’s only natural. But it’s not logical, true, or beneficial.
I, for one, wouldn’t mind a personal robotic assistant for help around the house. I’m less inclined to replace my girlfriend with a mechanical screaming sculpture, but I’m also not lonely, ugly, and old.
I have options, and I don’t mind those less fortunate than myself having a few more options of their own, other than jerking off in front of their screens, paying for company of reluctant, calculative ladies, or inviting a bunch of cats into their house for some warmth and love.
If there is a demand for such products, it’s because there is a need for them in the market. And where there is demand, there will be supply. It’s as simple as that.
Wouldn’t we rather help them find human companions without a price tag? Of course. But we can do both, can’t we? If we’re successful, I’m sure most will choose the meaty, soft, intoxicating two-legged biological companions over cold, fake, and ever-pleasing mechanical ones with their blank stares and repeating lines. If they don’t, maybe it’s for the best!
The choice
In short, robots and artificial intelligence are here to stay and will only increase their involvement in our lives.
I choose to be an optimist but keep my expectations realistic while doomsday cowards worry themselves to death because of something that doesn’t even exist yet, and they are wasting their lives stressing out instead of enjoying the limited time we all have on this plane.
AI-caused apocalypse or not, we’re all going to die — it’s only a matter of time. So don’t waste it. Time, that is!
None of us “knows” what this new change will bring. We can only speculate, and whether we lean toward a doomsday scenario or a better future will depend on our core attitude. It “feels” real and almost “certain,” but that’s an illusion. We’re having an emotional reaction based on fear of the unknown, not some highly accurate calculation of odds.
Why do I say this with such confidence? Because we have zero precedent! Sentient AI has never existed. Nothing even remotely exists today. It is purely in our imagination and in the science fiction stories. You think you know what it will be like, but you’re just remembering bad science fiction and believing it’s real.
Test this by thinking of aliens. What do you see in your mind when you think of an alien and first contact with aliens? What do you feel (fear or a sense of wonder)? Where, oh, where did you get those ideas from, I wonder? That’s right — movies and books!
The rest is a personal projection based on how you believe humans think and act. It, however, has nothing to do with artificial intelligence, for it is not human by its very definition.
I look at monumental changes in human society and technology as inherently good. They will improve our lives and propel us even higher. Not all will be perfect, and there will undoubtedly be some challenges, but we will adapt and come out the other end in better shape.
Besides, we probably all live within a mind-made simulation, and all of this worrying is monumentally stupid, as it’s all just a game. Here’s the fun part. If we are living in a simulation, or a dream world of some kind, where our minds create or at the very least help determine the nature of our reality, then dreaming up a killer AI or worrying about being replaced by robots might be the last thing you want to be doing. This does not only apply to AI!
