Motherhood can move mountains.

I never thought that motherhood could change me. At least, my perspectives about life and beyond.

I always thought that I would be myself after having my baby. I saw many ladies change because of motherhood. I wonder why people need to change themselves? I don’t believe in the need to do so because we should thrive to be ourselves.

Little did I know that having this mentality means I was locking myself in a downward spiral. Becoming a mother is a significant change in life. Resisting change is like swimming against the current.

Furthermore, change is natural. Change is another word for growth. Like plants, if we don’t grow we will rot.

Accepting this truth has allowed me to be at peace with myself. I stopped making unrealistic demands on myself. I am a human after all. I realised that imperfection doesn’t hurt me, it is my reactions to it do.

To close, I’d like to leave you with the following quote

‘We learn the most about ourselves when nudged out of our comfort zones, left to navigate the unfamiliar wilds without a script.’
