Announcing Circular Design Praxis, a new movement in and around Japan concerning circular design principles and practices for the Asia-Pacific—and a short essay to set the scene
I’m delighted and honoured to be playing a small part in a new design movement emerging in Japan, a strategic project led by RE:PUBLIC, one of the most interesting and capable design firms in Japan, and many significant Japanese researchers in academia and industry. It addresses one of the most challenging and interesting issues of our time: it’s called Circular Design Praxis.
I’ve been discussing this with RE:PUBLIC — particularly Fumiko, Hiroshi, Edward, Yuki, and friends — since the middle of last year, as well with as other key partners, such as Prof. Daijiro Mizuno at Kyoto Institute of Technology’s Kyoto Design Lab, and a public talk at Musashino Art University, via Prof. Atsushi Hasegawa, on a visit to…
