You can’t make stuff like this up.
Not only that, both of the books by women were recommended by women. Which means that all of the guys who work at YC couldn’t think of a single book written by a woman that they thought was worth recommending. Guys talking to guys who talk about guys, indeed.

If you struggle to get diverse voices inside your field, maybe you should read from diverse voices outside your field. I understand it is hard and I also gravitate towards comfortable reading, usually meaning from people that look like me. This is the problem. Start being accountable to yourself about it.
Well said. Unsurprisingly, it’s one of the lower-voted comments; and the most popular response is “Why does everything have to be about diversity?”
