This is the twelfth issue, however, not yet a full year for A Cornered Gurl. That milestone will take place on the 21st of this month, along with a host of other things. Hello, April! This month came and finally brought a bit of Spring with it (at least, for my area) and I could not be happier. This past week, Jernee and I have had a ton of walks and both of us have lapped up enough sun to share with anyone who needs or wants it. In this letter, I will share with you the Writers who inspired me, made me laugh, and are expressive with their words in a powerful way without using many of them. March was a busy month on Medium. Shall we get started?

Nick G. Mason sprinkles inspiration all over Medium daily. I love his meditative moments — they’re power-packed, encouraging, and always presented tactfully.

Mela Blust, much like emma poe popped up in my feed one day and I have been nearly breaking my neck trying to catch what she shares. I love her use of language, strength and power of words, and reflections on love. She is cutting through Medium in her own way and it is lovely to see.

Anna Hoff is another Writer on Medium not only sharing her words, but her art too. I love her style — an eclectic one, with a focus on line breaks and solid endings. Her work speaks for itself.

Evelyn Roe is doing things with haiku that I love to see — story/narrative form. And how she does it, makes me smile. Each one is carefully crafted and most of the haiku can stand alone and be just as powerful on their own. She also does haiku in parts, building up tons of imagery to share with the reader.

Daan Spijer is sharing photography with succinct descriptions to accompany each photo. Not only is he a pro at capturing the best moments on camera, he is giving us all glimpses of various places in Australia, New Zealand, and beyond.

BONUS:

Little Fears is one talented cat. I love his way of sharing his work. Be it humor, horror, or a parody of everyday life, his work is one that I follow here as well as WordPress. Recently, I purchased his latest book, “Grey Moon,” and am happy that I did so.

What do I love most in A Cornered Gurl this past month? I have a soft spot for Unsafe Passage, have grown rather connected to Skylar, and am blessed to have shared a challenge with you guys on how we are at Forgiving. ACG will be transitioning to quarterly letters beginning in June. From that moment forward, a letter will be issued every three months — in those letters, I will share with you my favorite pieces from this publication, and highlight a number of Writers giving Medium their all. The name of the letter will also be changed, that is yet to be determined. Be on the lookout for the next challenge which will be in May. Here’s a hint — it’ll incorporate food and beverages. :)

And now, shall we reflect and find inspiration too? A little Queen featuring David Bowie: Under Pressure

As always, thank you for your mind, time, and eyes. With ACG’s one year anniversary steadily on the way, I am so honored to share this space with all of you and am overjoyed by your support. Here’s to growing, learning, writing, and building together.

Peace and Blessings.
