No Shame To Hide

All that I treasure lies inside

Behind each line of thought
there is a life lived
behind each word
a book revealed
and we’re forever trying to express
things in our best life

Finding no one listening
where no one cares
we’re left standing
in the center lanes of the busiest
of life’s highway
nothing with which to be clothed

Our naked souls
exposed for all to see
that we have nothing to
hide
For all that we’ve ever treasured
is what lies
inside
