Respect

“not smooth enough.” “not rough enough.”
“not soft enough.” “not tough enough.”

“not good enough.”

Yet when she turned to the mirror,
she recognised the magnificence

of a soul gone daft

from trying its best,
and so,
she recognised the same
in every soul
that crossed her path.
