UNREQUITED WORDS PRESENTS
The Enigma of Him
A few verses on my elusive lover
The more I know him, the more I don’t know him.
He is a book I’m illiterate in.
He is a language I can’t speak,
A puzzle I can’t solve.
His love is like the moon,
Far away, yet comforting.
Still,
Little did I know,
He was the Sun.
I could only bask in his love,
But, when I ventured close,
I burned.
Loving him was the greatest adventure in my life.
An adventure that was fraught with obstacles, fears, insults,
sorrows, heartbreaks, and whatnot.
Still, a joy nevertheless.
Love is an experience.
There are no losers and winners in love.
The spark lasted for a short time,
But enough to leave me with a lifetime of memories and dreams.
All joy is transient.
Its very nature is so.
About joy,
Its length hardly matters as much as its depth.
I never knew what he felt about me.
Worse even,
I don’t know what I feel about him.
All I do know is that it inspires my lines and words.
All I do know is that it’s good.
So,
Thanks for the memories, thanks for the dreams.
Thanks to you for dropping by. :)
