Relationship Goals for Extended Family

They say that you get married once. But what I realised after getting married is that you marry the family again and again. It’s easy to deal with a single person but the story is different when you are dealing with the extended family of your partner.

But no one teaches you how to do it. You learn to cope with them however difficult they are. You find your own way to escape.

It’s a jungle out there and if you don’t how to deal with the situation you can be lost, too. But girlfriends help. And if you have understanding family members they do, too.

You learn to vent over a cup of chai or a glass of wine. And when nothing helps, you do window shopping or look at the wall and think of stories that make you smile. Or maybe you call up that person and empty your heart out. You learn to destress. Because you know this too will pass and that you are stronger than the situation.

You think about the strong women in your family. You write and you let go.
