Underneath the stories
we’ve been told
there lay the corpses
so-called heroes slayed

They told us
of the courageous men
who stood on the blood
of the muted voices

Greed masked
as benevolent acts
we are better off
so we are told

Untangle this web of lies
Uncover the truth
buried with the dead

Let us empower
ourselves
with the truth
that frees us all

Be a truth seeker
and let us break
free from the chains
that keep us bound.
