Lune a Lover
Writers, this is your second challenge of the year and for this one, we will dive into form and structure once again and marry ourselves to the lune:
*A lune (rhymes with moon) is a very short poem. It has only three lines. It is similar to a haiku. A haiku has three lines, and it follows a 5/7/5 syllable pattern. Lune’s syllable pattern is 5/3/5. Since the middle line is limited to three syllables, it is often the shortest line of the three. This makes a lune curve a bit like a crescent moon. — eDHelper.com
The challenge: I am asking you to “lune a lover” which is to write a three-lined poem in 5–3–5 syllabic form following the lune’s structure and form. Lune a lover. Tell me how your lover stirs you — what lifts you up about them? What can’t you get enough of from them? No lover, no love-life, that’s okay. Get creative by stating what you’d want from your lover or what you miss about your previous lover.
An example:
I can feel your skin
married to
the beat of my heart.
