Hello to our wonderful A-Culturated community!

We hope November brought you healing and transformation, setting the stage for the year to come.

Without further ado… let’s get into our monthly updates.

News, Reviews, & Updates

The month of November was full of stories, reflections and successes!

  • In our November Writing Prompt we explored the idea of cultural crisis and shared stories of identity struggles, collective turmoil, and the challenges of navigating our own inner worlds amidst a chaotic landscape. You can read all the entries here.
  • Our December Writing Prompt is out and ready for your interpretations, so be sure click the link! We are calling our writers to really educate us on their cultural philosophical life lessons.
  • Our Ongoing Series. Our ongoing series called “Cultural or Comfortable” where we unpack the uncomfortable truths behind our most accepted cultural behaviors, is still well and active, so check it out if it resonates with you.
  • If you didn’t catch it last month, A-Culturated is on LinkedIn! We decided to create a LinkedIn page so that we can promote your stories further. If you want us to mention you, leave your name and LinkedIn handle in the comments section below.

Monthly Mentions & Editors Picks

We don’t want to overwhelm you with a lengthy reading list, so we’ll keep things short and sweet!

Editors 3 Top Picks

  1. Matthew Clapham’s My Infallible Pizza Delivery Icebreaker Activity hooked me with its wit and insight — it’s a sharp reminder of how easily cultural assumptions can lead to unexpected missteps. We particularly enjoyed how Matthew turned a universal love for pizza into a lesson in humility and connection.
  2. Deborah Batterman’s A Vote Is a Kind of Prayer moved us with its heartfelt reflection on democracy, identity, and the rituals that bind people together. Her exploration of the intersection between voting and prayer — how both acts are rooted in hope, belief, and the desire for a better future — captured something truly universal.
  3. The way Ali Hall described being both everywhere and nowhere in Why Third-Culture Kids May Struggle to Say Where They’re From was instantly relatable to us. Her stories about growing up across cultures beautifully capture the rootlessness and resilience of a life lived between countries.

Our Most-Read Story in November

Brad Yonaka’s What Venezuela Twenty Years Ago Taught Me About the USA Today has 4.8K views and 3.2K reads.

Boosted Stories

If you want to read more amazing stories, be sure to check our Boost Gallery and look through what was boosted in November. Don’t forget, we nominate stories for a boost, but this doesn’t guarantee they get accepted for a boost. For more information on the boost program, click here.

We hope the month of December brings you expansion and insights into all that you have learned from your intercultural experiences thus far.

Thank you so much for unpacking cultures with us!

See you next month!
