The universe has a funny way of nudging us, first slowly, then a bit more forcefully and finally it will just rearrange and move everything that’s stopping us from following our path so that we have no choice but to do what is required for the next step in our mental, emotional and spiritual growth – very much like an overly involved mother. It is at such a juncture that I find myself today after months of trying to grab at the last straws of what was keeping me comfortable and in my safe zone.

So right now I face a lot of uncertainty professionally, financially and spiritually – I know that many are in the same boat as there seems to be some mass cleansing happening – first with Covid and then now cost of living.

10–15 years ago this would have caused me so much anxiety and sleepless nights but the funny thing is since the things which no longer serve me have been taken away from me, I’m sleeping better than I have in years. I feel lighter, happier and my skin is getting clearer. I’ve lost 5kg in a month with no real effort when the intense weight training I was doing beforehand wasn’t moving the scale at all.

When the pangs of uncertainty do attack me – when I see my bank account balance swindling, credit cards getting filled up, upcoming bills to pay, birthdays on the horizon and Christmas just around the corner– I take a deep breath and make a cup of chai.

In moments of sadness, pain and uncertainty a cup of chai has always served me, soothed me and given me internal conviction through the warmth of its spices that it’s going to be ok.

I very much hope that this blog will do the same for anyone experiencing similar circumstances, feelings of overwhelm or just in need of some light encouragement.

Very often just knowing that someone is travelling along similar or parallel paths to you is enough comfort for you to feel your problems are not as big as you think nor are they a personal attack from the universe on you. In fact, it’s a reminder that the universe will always push you to be your best, evolve to your highest capacity and land in a place where you’re able to receive what you deserve only if you will get out of your own way!

Why? Because it loves you so much and can’t bear to see you wasting your time, talent and energy on things that just don’t matter in the long run! You are better than whatever or whoever you were being. Your capacity is greater, your potential is greater, your purpose is greater and there’s no more time to waste.

So what next? – Drink up that chai and get a move on!

(Don’t forget to follow for more cups of chai – it could be the fuel you need when you least realise it.)

May the chai be with you,

Rushani
