Confirmation Bias

If you fear missing out on things, you will most likely find proof that you’ve missed out on many things.

If your current belief is that your life is not enough, you will most likely find proof of this in the lives of the people around you.

The point is that we’re not very reliable judges. No matter how intelligent or wise we think we are most of us are just reacting to stimuli irrationally.

We’re prone to use all new information to confirm our prior ideas and theories.

This is especially true in regards to our fears and insecurities.

Many of us are biased toward the negative, toward our insecurities, toward our fears.

How can we combat the confirmation bias that exists in our ingratitude and our fear of missing out?

Become grateful for your life today — authentically grateful.

I’m not talking about just being positive or putting on a face.

How can you be authentically grateful for where you are in life (for example, being alive and able to read this is a positive) and the things you get to do and be a part of today.

Use the disability of confirmation bias in your favour.

Cultivate gratitude and you might find more things to be grateful for.
