We started the day off with a free walking tour given to us by a local university student of the Hanoi old quarters! A very cool girl and knows all the cool food places to bring us.

A fried foods place she showed us. Honestly some of the stuff I had no idea what it was but it was super good! Very lightly fried!

Our tour guide then showed us the oldest and most famous ice cream shop in Hanoi!

Here she is with Liz and they’re so cute together! They’re the same size and when they walk side by side eating ice cream together, it looks like they are best of friends 😬

We also tried a pork with vermicelli noodles noodles. You dip the noodles into the sauce and eat it with the pork! The pork wasn’t the greatest cut but it was actually cooked very well! It was a bacon-y cut though, maybe you which is why I liked it.

We also tried one of Hanoi’s specialties, which is egg coffee! Super frothy and creamy, very unique texture and taste!

It was actually inside another store and on the second floor overlooking the lake. Our tour guide brought us to this place and honestly, we would’ve never found this place if it wasn’t for her. The locals show you a whole other world and its truly fascinating.

We also chatted with some other vietnamese people at the coffee shop. What did we talk about? The presidential election of course!

We ended our night flying from Hanoi to Ho Chi Minh for one last adventure before we head back to the states… we leave you with this bag of chips that were “Brazilian BBQ” flavored. Tasted like American Lays bbq flavor but with a little extra sweetness, like a tamarind sweetness. Asians like their tamarind sauce!
