Seeking Salmon

When the Chinook salmon spawning season rolled around this Fall we decided to go look and see if we could spot any swimming upstream in one of the local salmon-favored rivers.

Couldn’t see any from the bridge.

But during a closer inspection while walking along the river bank, we noticed several dead salmon — having already laid their eggs we missed their swim upstream and they’d died — one eerily seeming to look skyward, as well as rather prehistoric.
