On September Fourteenth, Nineteen Oh One,
Teddy Roosevelt was now president
After McKinley was killed by a gun,
Becoming youngest white house resident.

The youngest president in history,
Roosevelt was a dynamic young man.
Why he is well-known is no mystery.
He was a progressive guy with a plan.

His own party didn’t much care for him,
Finding Teddy’s ideas too progressive.
Some might argue that it looked rather grim,
But Teddy remained being impressive.

After leaving his presidential role,
The Bull Moose Party was his brand new goal.

Note:

Vice-president Theodore Roosevelt became president in 1901, following the assassination of the 25th U.S. President William McKinley. President McKinley was the third president to be assassinated in U.S. history. Teddy Roosevelt was 42 years and 322 days old when he assumed office, becoming the youngest president in U.S. history.

After finishing out the rest of McKinley’s elected term, Roosevelt ran for president in the 1904 election
