Unicorn Hunt
A Field Guide to Unicorns

I’m an alien-unicorn from planet Glitter — can you explain to me what your company does?
For sure! Nomad Academy brings driven individuals together to create entrepreneurial careers, in inspiring locations around the world. Conventional careers hold us back from achieving all that we could and living life on our own terms. By getting you the skills and mindset to create an entrepreneurial career, we know you’ll feel alive and do epic things with your life.

We do this through organising 3-month programs where 30 young professionals travel the world together while learning in-demand skills & attending intense workshops and experiences.

Describe your company culture?
We have three underlying values we live by:

Radical Transparency — speaking truthfully and honestly to each other.

Self Responsibility — willingness to learn & take on feedback from others.

Openness — willingness to change perspective & look at the big picture from multiple directions.

Apart from that, we are a very open-minded, not taking ourselves too seriously; we’re a community of friends that love what we do. The whole team in intrinsically motivated by the purpose & change we create in individuals. A very amazing intelligent team that moves fast & breaks things.

What are your main focuses at the moment?
Making the next program as good as it can be! Latin America in September is going to have a whole extra dimension. Each & every program we learn from our experience with the last one — and upgrade it to get our tribe members into the direction they really want to — before leaving the program.

How did you hear about Unicorn Hunt and what do you like about it?
We heard about it from other founders. We loved the whole branding about Unicorn Hunt and more importantly that they are able to attract really high caliber talent. It’s the place you go to find that unique, outstanding talent, you wouldn’t find elsewhere. The crazy ones come together there, the ones willing to dream.

What advice would you give other startups that are hiring?
Hire for culture & purpose fit above anything else.

What advice would you give people applying to work at Nomad Academy?
Be vulnerable. Show all of yourself. We do not judge and like to get to know people on a deeper level.

If your company was a board game what would it be and why?
Chess — because every move changes the game
