LOVE

Leicester City

It’s hard to suggest that you love any team other than your own but there’s not a lot to dislike about Leicester City.

Jamie Vardy is having a party.

James Maddison is incredibly easy on the eye.

Wilfred Ndidi is another N’golo Kante.

Even the centre back pairing of Jonny Evans and Çağlar Söyüncu is mightily impressive.

They’ll have to pull off another miracle to challenge Liverpool but they’ve already achieved the impossible once!

LIKE

Crystal Palace

Perhaps an odd choice?

Palace get into my like section because of their old school ground and cracking atmosphere. Sure, the pre-match meal is better at the Emirates but there’s something about going to Selhurst Park that just feels a bit proper.

Newcastle United

Another team that make it into the like section because of their incredible fan base.

Newcastle is a football city. Yes, so is Manchester or Liverpool. But when was the last time Newcastle fans genuinely had anything to cheer about?

Their passion deserves a cup run, at least.

Manchester United

With Ole Gunnar Solskjaer at the helm and United putting faith in their younger players, there’s ever such a small hint of the Fergie era.

It takes time to build a team of world beaters. No Premier League club in 2020 is going to give their manager time to do what Sir Alex Ferguson or Arsene Wenger did with their teams…except perhaps Manchester United.

As long as Ole remains in charge and they don’t spend £200m in January, they remain on the like tier.

Chelsea

For similar reasons to Ole and Manchester United, there’s a lot to like about Chelsea right now.

However, they also seem to be playing decent football.

There’s a lot to admire about Frank Lampard’s managerial style and tactics. His faith in the loanees he took at Derby County is admirable and so far Chelsea don’t appear to be missing Eden Hazard as much as fans thought they would.

DISLIKE

Fulham

Okay, this is clearly an aged tier ranking system but Fulham get a special mention in the dislike section.

They can’t fill their tiny ground — and couldn’t in the Premier League.

For some bizarre reason, their fans still think they are a bigger and more successful club than Chelsea.

The social media presence and general attitude of some Fulham fans makes them extremely hard to like.

Arsenal

Arsenal are everything that is wrong with football in 2020.

A pre-match carvery, cheese and biscuits at half time, and half the spectators remaining in the hospitality boxes for the second half shows the sad state of football fandom in North London.

The food is lovely and those boxes are nice and warm in the winter…but that’s not why football fans go to watch games.

Which means it’s not football fans at these games and the real fans can’t get or can’t afford a ticket.

Add Arsenal Fan TV into the mix and the dire attitude of some of their millionaire footballers and it’s easy to dislike Arsenal.

Tottenham Hotspur

The nearly team for several years on the bounce has left Spurs fans feeling entitled.

Long gone are the days of being happy with getting into Europe. Spurs need to win a trophy.

Throwing money at trophies hasn’t worked with questionable signings this summer. Throwing a new manager into the mix hasn’t had the immediate return the Spurs board and Spurs fans demanded.

Soon there’ll be nothing left.

But, they did make a DVD, at least 😉

HATE

Liverpool

We get it. You used to be successful.

Huddersfield Town

Again, another team left over from when the Premier League tier ranking system was designed but I can’t just sit here and like them.
