Day 61: Building a successful company takes time

Yesterday the startup I previously worked for, SeatGeek, announced a landmark deal with Major League Soccer. The deal will make SeatGeek the official ticketing partner for the burgeoning league. At the heart of the deal, SeatGeek will bring technology to teams and fans that makes the ticket buying experience better than it's ever been. It’s truly an industry changing deal and a defining moment for SeatGeek.

In reality the deal has been 7 years in the making, since the company launched in 2009. The evolution of SeatGeek as a company has been phenomenal to be a part of. In order to get to this moment it’s required an incredible amount of commitment, work, effort, patience, and collaboration. It’s also a reminder that building a successful company takes time. A long time usually. It’s something that’s good to keep perspective of as I start my new company.

Lastly, just want to send a note of congrats to my friends at SeatGeek. You guys are an inspiration to follow.
