Introduction to A-Frame Press Release
This project’s ambition is to consider the past, present, and future of the printing press, the photo, and storytelling mediums, including motion.
Envisioned as the pinnacle of the peak, the conceptual hub and incubator for projects seeking life and fulfillment. That may sound like a lot, and it may sound a little abstract. So let’s bring it back down to earth a little bit.
A better place to start is looking at the name and what that represents. The press has a couple of meanings related to the media. One is used in relation to journalists or people working for media companies. The other, of more relevance to the interests here, is the printing press. However, not just what it is physically, but what it represents symbolically, and the timeline of societies changes as influenced by it.
The particular conceptual interest is 3-fold. History, murmurs of social disruption as well as augmentation due to the invention of the printing press. We can also go a little further back to discover what caused the invention of the printing press and how those problems were solved previously.
The second fold is related to the current application of the printing press and how its function has changed over recent years, leading up to where we are now on the threshold of AI. Artificial intelligence is also causing a social disruption. It has brought both anxiety and excitement. This might depend on a given circumstance or livelihood. Does the technology and changing times represent the bringing of more opportunities or taking away opportunities?
There is an inclination toward intellectual contemplation while analysing the topics that fall into various categories. The reason for this intellectual approach is first, to pay homage, and second, to discover a fulfilling way to profit financially while promoting universal empathy and cultural sustainability for all communities.
In that vein, the four words that might encapsulate the components of these considerations can be classified under 1. utility, 2. ecology, 3. artisan, and 4. lifestyle. In life, all the important jobs fall under one or more of these categories; one could say that the latter two, and especially the last one, are less crucial to survival and more a prize of “thrival.” If we ever hear about “lifestyle” in relation to survival, it usually pertains to an older person who needs to quit smoking or take deliberate care of one’s health.
If artisan represents luxuries leading to entertainment, its base forms are definitely centred around education in the form of storytelling. That it uses the word artisan may be in an unconventional and broader sense, taking advantage of the small word art inside the bigger word. That might tend to imply specifically crafts and more practical, functional products. In this case, it is meant as a wider umbrella and composing media and storytelling across the board. Then when luxury allows, we can relish in not only function but also form.
A-Frame in its literal form, is about letters, language, symbols and a framework structure; foundation.
After an attempt to be deep and thoughtful, always returning to the organic principles, A-Frame means one thing mainly: it’s a type of wave as demonstrated in the photo-image story within the story throughout.
