In the year 2035 we foresee that different generations will have to share homes due to a longer life expectancy, longer study periods, less stability of jobs and a more difficult housing market.
A family made up by four adults age 30–90y live together in a medium sized apartment in Stockholm, Sweden. In the everyday lives of the family we see ordinary problems and joys from sharing their living space. In the fiction, the family have acquired artifacts especially designed for crowded homes. As the objects gets integrated in their everyday lives we get to see them being used in both expected and unexpected ways.
Door Information System
The Door Information System is a communication device that optimizes privacy and togetherness in crowded homes. The devices senses when and by whom doors are used in the home. The data is used to automate the opening and closing of the doors in relation to the movement and habits of the users. The Door Information System aimed to increase time together and avoiding negative friction in the crowded homes of the future.
The eyeRoomba intelligent cleaning system cleans your home in an efficient way. In many crowded homes there is never a good time to roomba. The eyeRoomba aimed to solve this problem by being able to locate the users and their mess. The eyeRoomba cleans where it is needed, when it is needed, without bothering the members of the family.
