When thinking about the future of this planet, it is hard to say how much time humans and other life forms have until environmental issues start to destroy fundamental resources to survival. The high amount of meat and dairy consumption in today’s society is a huge contributor to greenhouse gas emissions, as well as other environmental issues. In later years, the world may look at plant-based dieting more to reduce environmental destruction and increase overall health.

There has been a recent hike in trends that involve vegan dieting and will most likely cause a decrease in sales for the meat and dairy industry. I personally have gone on and off again with vegan dieting and will continue to incorporate fewer agriculture products in my diet in the future. Ever since I was in my preteens, I never enjoyed the idea of killing other living animal organisms for my own consumption. I did, however, find it interesting to know what effects animal hormones have on the body and why it was thought to be normal to kill other beings in order for human beings to live.

The entire population would benefit from doing their own research on animal consumption in order to add years to their life span. Some questions that I hope to explore pertain to: what plant-based corporations are growing due to recent popularity is vegan dieting, what should people know about the meat and dairy industry in order to make an informed decision on diet switching, and how much effort it will take from farmers and consumers to reverse the effects of an already polluted planet. Informing yourself and gaining knowledge about the meat and dairy industries effects on the Earth will only help extend the life span of humans.
