We all have devices that need to be charged regularly. Personally I have my phone, my Fitbit Blaze, my Kaiser Bass Action Camera and my powerpacks for when I am on the go. What I found was that when I was charging my devices and storing my cables it was a mess. This is why I backed the ECLIPSE by Native Union.

The ECLIPSE is a 3 port charging station with 2 USB-A ports and 1 port that can either be a USB-A or USB-C. The cables are stored in the ECLIPSE by being wound into their own channel. This makes them easy to use and won’t ever get tangled. When winding them into their channels the hub rises up like seen in the image above. Then by tapping it twice it lowers hiding away the cables.

In the photo on the left you can see what it looks like when hub is lowered in the body of the ECLIPSE. As you can see I have my Fitbit Blaze charging. Usually I will have the Fitbit Blaze charge in and two micro-USB cables in as well.

Not only does it make hiding away cables easier but it also makes charging devices during the middle of the night easier. By tapping once on the top of the hub it turns on a light at the bottom of the ECLIPSE. Several times I have forgotten to put in my phone to charge before going to sleep. The light allows me to find the right cable and plug it into my phone without having to turn on a main light in my room.

When I backed the ECLIPSE on Kickstater it cost me $78AUD which realistically is not that expensive for what it is and the work that went into designing it. I would definitely be willing to pay that price for a second ECLIPSE for another room.

If you are like me and hate having unnecessary cables around your room I would recommend getting the ECLIPSE. Currently at the time of writing this they are not for sale however you can stay updated as to their progress by signing up to Native Unions Newsletter here.
