Peter Five Eight: The Return of Kevin Spacey
Cairo, Egypt
“Be sober, be vigilant; because your adversary the devil, as a roaring lion, walketh about, seeking whom he may devour”
New International Version
For those who have been Kevin Spacey fans for years, 2024 brought a pleasant surprise. Spacey has always played the role of a “creep.” This was evidenced in American Beauty, Seven, and House of Cards. Even when he has not played a creep, his roles have always been unique such as Prot in K-Pax. House of Cards was a weekly masterclass in acting. He, Robin Wright, and Michael Kelly had such great on screen chemistry. Alas, Spacey has been absent from film and television of eleven years.
In Peter Five Eight, Space once again plays an interesting character; this time he is a psychotic hitman, Peter. His work leads him to a quite California town. His target: a real estate agent named Sam, played by Jet Jandreau, who has a dark secret. The film concludes with Spacey’s first on screen death since Seven. Spacey has obviously not lost his skill set. Many of his fans can continue to say that they have never seen a bad Kevin Spacey movie.
Hopefully, Peter Five Eight is just the beginning of Spacey’s return. It would be great to see the original cut of All the Money in the World.
