By now, everyone has analyzed the latest Amazon earnings, with some good observations by John Furrier in his posting:

· AWS has lots of work to do to convert its partner ecosystem leadership into AI-backed strategic partnerships and client engagements.

· We at theCUBE Research are watching how AWS competes in the enterprise against Microsoft who has a stronger AI story and more enterprise relationships in a transforming IT market.

Across the infrastructure, AI is taking its place at the edge and endpoint, with a recent acronym AIOT (Artificial Intelligence of Things) in. the mix. From the EE Times interview with Renesas:

· If you look at predictive AI, it’s about analyzing and making predictions. And most of the case time you’re talking about those intelligent end point or edge devices, whether they’re in our homes or factories, or wherever they happen to be. We’re collecting data all the time. You know, we live in this world that’s full of sensors.

· If you think about scaling AI at the more resource constrained layers of the network, which is the edge, the endpoint, and the continuum of the edge, this is where for AIOT to be successfully adopted, the intelligence model needs to be shifting to a more decent intelligence model. This is where you’re going to see a lot more capabilities or intelligence being embedded right at the edge and within the endpoints to do local inferencing, local classification, local regression models, and things like that, for a broad range of application. And that is where a drastic shift in terms of decentralizing the intelligence is kind of a need for the day, and already something that the ecosystem overall is working on.

At the end of last week, I finally saw ‘The Creator’ before it leaves the theaters. Unique take on the evolution of AI intelligence and co-existence. From the visuals, and even the plot, I thought back to ‘Blade Runner’ which was one of the inspirations for the film.
