The Classroom Setting

Over the course of the past week, I’ve spent countless hours in my classroom. From setting up learning stations, organizing curriculum resources, to making the environment hospitable for learning, it has all been somewhat overwhelming.

That said, I feel a certain serene sense of calm being in the classroom. Maybe it is the slight hum from the bubble-stone in the classroom aquarium, but I’m not entirely sure. Something about being in a space that is mine — and my students, of course. This is my first year teaching, and while I’m no stranger to the stresses of education, both learning and teaching it, this time is different. There is more freedom, but also more accountability. Scary thought, really…

All-in-all, I can’t wait to start teaching. Stay tuned for some pictures when I get things just right in the room.

Cheers!
