It’s hard to believe that a CrowdStrike content update itself could cause a global outage affecting major industries such as air travel, credit cards, railways, news channels, healthcare, broadcast, street lights, and emergency services like 911. My first thought was whether it was adequately tested — seems like a basic validation oversight.

On the other hand, this serves as a reminder of how crucial IT resiliency is for businesses providing solutions worldwide. They need robust plans for backups, redundancy, and failover to maintain continuity. This incident underscores the importance of proactive risk planning and mitigation strategies.

In this case, it feels like a very basic issue that was overlooked during testing and in the BCDR planning process. 🌐💻
