Four Uncomfortable Realizations All Creatives Learn Once
Your story will not just be full of failures, but it might just give you a way to make a return.
It’s our fearful perception of Life that has the truth that we seek so dearly.
Fear and uncomfortable feelings are the ultimate catalysts that give us motivation.
I know I work out because of my fear of dying too young. I want to write because that one person‘s life can be changed by words. Even a few words can fill their heart with hope and their mind with a thought to ponder upon.
Writing is not a means to an end. In fact, it’s never-ending. Its worldly possibilities are far more than one fear of being judged.
The world is polarized on every possible point of thought, yet it doesn’t downgrade its power.
The thought carries a weight that no Atlas can.
The idea that I could help someone but don’t makes me puke up a bucket worth of fear.
Your opinion will change, and that is fine.
I really don’t like to have the same opinion six months on. It just means that I didn’t find new perspectives on it. One simply doesn’t grow if he doesn’t allow his or her belief to be broken down and have it form again.
You can either strengthen your old belief or adopt new ones.
Your Work Can Change Someone
The ultimate dream of any creative; to make their mark. How would they be known?
But the cost of leaving work that changed lives is sticking to it forever.
The fear of actually succeeding is far greater than the fear of failure. Especially when you know if one piece works, you are willing to keep doing it instead of experimenting.
Be proud of your work, but don’t get stuck on it forever.
Your Life Will Pan Out Different than you Thought
Three years ago I wanted to become a ‘YouTuber’ and I didn’t like writing at all.
Two years ago I wanted to be a fiction writer. And now I am loving writing here. Helping people.
It is our failure to become our perceived ideal that ultimately makes us unique — Conan O’Brien
No one gets what they want.
Being open to new possibilities and opportunities is what helps us change and ultimately reinvent ourselves to become a better human.
You Will Quit
Yes. You will give up. Maybe before you succeed or after you’ve got everything you needed out of your work.
Most creatives don’t last more than 10 years.
That’s because either they get bored or they evolve. The ‘earning’ creative’s job is to sustain the demand for his work and the desire to do it in the first place.
It’s fine to quit if you have a better thing to do.
Takeaways
- There’s no harm in changing your opinion. It shows you are willing to change.
- A creative always has the power to change someone’s life.
- A creator's journey never pans out as planned.
