Bones

A Little Crumb of Heaven
1 min readJan 24, 2017

My bones matter more to you than my existence
An expensive casket is how you value our friendship
When I was flesh I was at the back of your mind
Now I am spirit, I inspire moving tributes.
I am as visible as the air you breathe
After you’ve finished mourning and are sniffing and stifling
Choking back tears that make the eyes of the crocodile salty with envy
They fled when I was flesh
When they weren’t scavengers
Now I am no more
They have come to claim the bones
They redefined hyenas.

Now you have come to claim the bones
