📸 —Bratislava, Slovakia
Leaving Vienna, we took a short 60 min boat ride to Bratislava for our next adventure. It was pretty funny….. you ride in the boat and all of a sudden you see a rock with the Austrian flag on one side, and Slovakian flag on the other… and that is your boarder crossing 😊
We had to go to Bratislava because Maeghan’s friend Michal is from there. She has known him for almost 7 years now and when they first met, Maeghan promised him that she would come visit his home country… and so they did!
It was so amazing to have a friend to hang out with and be normal humans. We saw a movie, went to the mall, ate cakes/ice cream and played board games in-between doing a historical tour or two.
Michal you are the best, thank you so much for introducing us to amazing food, history and of course your home. 🙂 (hug!)

Various times through out the day with people taking pictures with the working man.
St. Michaels Gateway was one of a few pillars that surrounded the city and later removed to make way for the city to grow. This one remained as a reminder of their strength.
We assumed it was just named after our friend Michal 😉
This blue church is the 2nd most photographed thing in Bratislava. Apparently a lot of tourists get lost finding it, but it is actually across the street from where Michal went to school. 😃
This is one of the most photographed things in Bratislava. We had to walk around the old town a few days to actually find a time when people were distracted by a street fashion show to get a picture with him.
Also, if you rub the working man’s head you will have good fortune.
We went to the Beer & Burger festival which was wayyyyy more fun than any of us had anticipated. Michal’s favorite band Puding Pani Elvisovej who put on a heck of a show. Michal & Maeghan were dancing with all the kids and Oli was drinking all the beer.
