📸 Katoomba & Blackheath, Australia
I was really excited for this part of the trip. Both Oli and I were stoked to get out of the city for a few days, and get to the mountains.
We arranged to spend a few days in the Blue Mountains which gets its name and colours from the densely populated eucalyptus trees that fill the air with finely dispersed droplets of oil, which, in combination with dust particles and water vapour, scatter short-wave length rays of light (like a rainbow!) which are predominantly blue in colour.
It was awesome, and even in a torrential down pour, it was the most magical place. Imagine walking in the forest.. and it smelled like a spa (eucalyptus). It was so relaxing and wonderful and super different from my good ol’rockie mountains.
