Nusa Penida is a special place because its home to some of the most healthy coral reefs in Indonesia and frequents visits from Manta Rays and the Mola Mola giant fist of the sea! So Oli was determined to get some diving in and try his luck in finding them.

We’ve been under the water for a while now, almost at 2,000 minutes and counting! We shoot on Maeghan’s GoPro video footage and pull out the best pictures since she is shooting 60 frames per second!

Some favorite underwater muses include Turtles (they are just so cute!), Clown fish (Finding Nemo has made them a forever favorite) and Nudi branches — the pretty slugs of the sea! They are the tiny little shell-less slugs that come in hundreds of different shapes and colours and are usually pretty tiny, only a few inches long. Finding them kind of feels like playing Pokemon… you got to catch them all 😊

After a week on Nusa Lembongan and diving off Nusa Penida we got to enjoy a day of beaches before our big trip out of the far east, and closer to home… Europe.

3 Nemos!
A incredible moment, five 3m–4 meter mantas joined us on our dive!
Gliding through the sea eating plankton
Maeghan waving at the manta rays like she is 5 years old.
The water was freezing (they like the cold currents) so full wetsuits were needed for the first time since New Zealand.
Largest lion fish we saw! bad picture… but it was huge!
Found 2 different Nudi branches today!
Eels got an eye out for you.
Buddy turtle eating some coral.
So much colourful coral here in Nusa!
New favorite Java Island Indonesia dish — a sweet and savoury cake
