Rain Cloud, A Day Before Spring | Anne Marie Wells Poetry
Rain Cloud, A Day Before Spring
An island of translucent coal lies
atop the Snake River, and I thought
I watched as it poured over the eddies,
but, actually, I am not quite sure the water
wasn’t reaching out
for the cloud, asking,
Please, can’t I go with you?
