  • Please use at least one of the prompt words provided each week.
  • Submissions for prior weeks are allowed, but no submissions will be accepted after 6/30/24
  • We accept short fiction, flash fiction, and poetry! Previously accepted work is fine so long as prior publication allows. For short fiction, please submit works no longer than 5,000 words!
  • Please make use of content warnings where applicable. Submission formatting is covered below.
  • Please ensure submissions have been reviewed for spelling and grammar.
  • HAVE FUN!

Prompts

  • Several prompt word suggestions for each week have been posted. Use as many or as few as you’d like, so long as you use at least one in some form or fashion in your submission! The schedule is shown below:

Please submit your stories on the Saturday and following Sunday.
Stories will be reviewed over the weekend and posted by the following Monday. Stories submitted earlier will not be read until the weekend. (For example, stories from week one would be submitted the 8th and 9th, and posted by the 10th, and so on.)

Submission Formatting

  • Title: the title of your piece
  • Subtitle: one line summary (only required for short fiction)
Click on three dots > Change display title / subtitle
  • Content warnings must be included. Consult book trigger warnings if you need guidance on what qualifies. Tags are helpful but not required.
  • If you would like to add a short bio at the end of your submission, including links to your socials, please feel free! Be sure to separate it from the ending of the submission with a divider.
  • During the post review process, event moderators will create a graphic for your story, including title of piece and author name.
