Helen Keller

Helen Keller was blind and she was deaf. But that didn’t stop her from pursuing a college degree at Radcliffe College, becoming the first deaf-blind person to earn a Bachelor of Arts in the U.S. Nor did it stop her from falling in love and getting engaged, or becoming a public speaker who fought for equality, peace and the rights of workers.
There must have been a number of reasons for how she was able to accomplish as much as she did, but one had to be her own perspective on life.
“So much has been given to me I have not time to ponder over that which has been denied.”
The photograph is of 24 year old Helen in 1904.
