Our love is as old as time;
Since God’s eye blinked every mote into being.

This hand spent a thousand years in a star
Giving life to an unknown race, who, with their wisdom,
Worshipped it.

And these lips were once part of some
Celestial flower, alone in a woodland glade,
Blossoming unseen and shouting its
Joy to the heavens.

For a million years they drifted across space,
Locked in the icy core of a wandering comet;
Past nebulae more beautiful than words,
Past planets ignorant of them, until they came
To rest here in you and I; to be reunited in this kiss.
