A Narcissist

This is my journey away from myself and toward others. I want to stop destroying people’s lives. I want to live my life with others. I want to form real relationships. I want true intimacy. That’s what I want. But it’s not what I look for.

The world thinks narcissists don’t get better

and it’s actually the best thing for narcissists to hear

  • You keep making the same mistakes.
  • You keep hurting me.
  • You say you will get better but I don’t see improvement.
  • You aren’t taking the right steps to improve.
  • AND you won’t admit any of this to yourself or to me.”

You saying this ENRAGES the narcissist and they will not try any harder out of spite. You see the narcissist’s lame attempts and the narcissist hates you more for it. That’s why they don’t ever improve.

“I am sorry”

This is why the world thinks that narcissists don’t get better. They say they will change, but you just end up reliving the hell again, falling for that trick and realizing you never left hell in the first place.

Narcissists don’t know how to try

The narcissist can really mean it when he feels sorry and wants to try harder. Narcissists simply don’t know how to try harder.

They’ll claim it’s like a disability or a blind spot…but it will be difficult to assess if it’s disability or disinterest.
