The tiny ball of fluff you brought home all those years ago is falling apart. Both of you know that the days, hours, and minutes are numbered, and it’s ripping to shreds the hearts of everyone in the house.

You thought your dog, who spent his life loving you, would pass in his sleep. Some nights, you fall asleep with the whisper of a prayer on your heart and on your lips as a tear slips down your cheek.

Please let him fall asleep and not wake up in the morning. If only he’d go to sleep and not wake up, then this nightmare would be over.

He rolled over and gave us belly 15 years ago. It’s his patented move to call for pets and love. We brought him home after we inadvertently walked attempting to complete a home improvement project.

You know the project you start, and then, in the middle, you need a part or a tool that you couldn’t foresee at the beginning.

That was us on Halloween. We walked into a small chain hardware store looking for the piece to complete our project, and it’s our hearts that became complete instead.

The dogs were all dressed in Halloween shirts, bow ties, or other attractive attire in the hope of finding a new forever home.
