People get ready

I wonder what it was like in 1968 to feel like the country was completely divided, racism and inequality were on the rise and the country was tearing itself apart. A bloody costly war, racist bombings of churches, cities sicking dogs on protesters, college kids gunned down by national guardsmen on campus. It must have been pretty scary.

I know this time today feels bad. It does to me and lots of people I know. Not sure how its going to go, if it will get lots worse or somehow get better but it feels like its gonna be bad.

Me, I really want to see every loving, compassionate human being with a voice stand up for a kind fair more just society. That includes past presidents, musicians, actors, nurses, teachers, students, clergy, the poor and the rich.

How we treat children, the elderly, the sick, the impoverished, and the outcasts looking for salvation, that is how we will be judged by God and posterity.
