Lies of Our Eyes
What does a human really know? What can a human really see?
Why do eyes change so much?
Our own and that of others…
Leaving so many parts of us undiscovered.
Staring at things…
yet still asking,
”O brother, are you undercover?”
When its our eyes that leave information uncovered
The destination’s not the understanding of others,
but how to categorize and fit them into MY cupboard.
Ingredients saved for a later date…
Thinking i should be in charge of what makes the plate.
How far and how many scars make a person great.
My sickening sweet tooth and how it takes the cake,
what i’ve seen at home that shapes who’s worthy of real estate…
Looking without observing.
Seeing but not believing.
Still think i can take a stand and damn a man’s mistakes,
tell a woman how to look to win this crooked race.
Parroting perspectives but think i should have a say….
A bird’s brain’s better than mine,
simply living its life.
Not imprisoning rhythm with the creation of time…
it doesn’t create its confines.
That’s a vice for humans to ride.
Creating slippery slopes then complain when we slide.
Meanwhile,
what we’re considering wild
gets to take to the skies.
Humans are also able to fly.
However,
our eyes are attuned to be ruined with lies.
On purpose or not,
appearance collides with the eyes.
Creating mirages us fools won’t deny.
