Why Safespace Was Created
Dear new and future members

SAFESPACE was created to amplify the diverse voices of Highly Sensitive People, and uplift those who are not yet sure of your place; born out of my own life lessons, studies, and experiences.
It all started as a secret Instagram account where I posted quotes that I found relatable, in an effort to somehow express myself. I was afraid to share writing online for fear of hurting or offending someone. A number of people reached out through the account because they too, felt the same. It became apparent that I was not alone in this.
Although I love my friends dearly, many of them did not know how to hold space. For the most part, I was at fault in that I did not want to burden them with concerns. What they saw was an adventurous, super-passionate, outgoing yet solitude-loving person—which is all true—but when it came to emotional traumas I kept it to myself.
Being a fiercely independent person, it has been a long road in learning to take space, to speak out and express myself, and realise — it is okay to push-back, reach out and accept help.
When you uncover your true self,
you attract your true people.
Unmask.
I hope for our Hub to be a place where we grow together. So that if you ever find yourself in the same funk, there is a whole network of friends, and experts, who not only understand but will hold space.
I hope for us to find success in our individual and collective endeavours, and make meaningful connections on the way.
I hope for society to see sensitivity is a gift, and that our future leaders are equipped with this intelligence.
I hope that, if you are unsure of your place, that you find your voice and a support network here.
I hope to learn from you, and we, from each other.
What happens when we build a community of wholly empathic members? I am so excited to see!
Sincerely,
