I’m turning 60 soon and I’m finally taking my gap year. I meant to do it sooner, at age 22 or 25, but I was too old back then and way too sure of everything. I used to regret not having done it sooner but not anymore. Steinbeck was right, you know. You just keep going and screw how it sounds. You just don’t ever stop. And then you’ll look up one day and see the whole damn story, as clear as the Blue Lagoon.
