A Sleuth of Blunds

There were once four little teddy bears, amongst numerous teddy bears. They were made in a factory, somewhere in Indonesia, according to the papery label attached to them, and then destined to be sold in different IKEA stores around the world. Children (and maybe adults alike) would name their bears, but the papery label simply referred to these bears as — ‘BLUND’.

A Blund would eventually make his way to a home in Singapore. After many years of being hugged, cuddled and sometimes stuffed into a backpack to be hauled overseas, his pristine velvety ‘fur’ became matted and prone to greying. He doesn’t mind, it was a mark of a loved teddy bear. He was the first of the four.

The other three joined him much later in 2013 and 2014.

The Blunds (L to R: Jon, Jack, Karl, Mikey)

Most of the time, the Blunds live at home and sleep. But every now and then, their owner stuffs them into her backpack and stows them on board a Naval Warship while she works. The Blunds don’t mind this because it is perpetually air-conditioned on board and a relief from the humidity of Sunny Singapore.

On rarer occasions, the Blunds go on holiday.

Tasmania, Australia (2015)

Over the years, people started noticing the Blunds and their adventures. They were after all, four little bears — measuring not more than the length between your wrist and elbow, decked in teddy-bear sized t-shirts and socks, with an unassuming smile and gaze reminiscent of your childhood teddy.

It was high time that the Blunds get their own platform to update their adventures. And this is it.

Stay tuned for their adventures around the world in the exciting 2016!

Happy New Year!

Oh yes, they have a puppy too.
