Sometimes managers have difficulty accepting input from their employees. If you have a point that you feel will absolutely save your team a lot of time & effort but feel helpless to proving it, here’s what you should do:

Authority is key

if you know that what you are going to say is right, you have the upper hand. Speak with authority, people tend to be subconsciously affected by it.

Be polite

if you lose your head, you will seem like you have no logical reason to base your opinion on. Be calm and speak politely, you’re trying to make a point, not offend your boss.

Use reason and make it personal

if you know your boss well, you’ll know how to sell your idea. Use what you know matters to them…explain (privately) how applying your idea will save him from that awful hours-long meeting with his boss. It works like magic, try it.

Ascia bnt Muzahem

was married to one of the most horrible tyrants in history; the Pharoh of Egypt. She managed to 1. hide her faith from him when he forced his people to worship him and 2. convince him to keep baby Moses at a time when he ordered all babies to be murdered. She did it all using calm, politeness and reasoning. Not to mention an incredible strength of character.

for that, she earns her spot as the first Real Life #bosslady on my list this month.
