In Pursuit of Silence

Why a moment of quiet can heal a day of noise.

To go outwards, to the furthest reaches; to be universal, to be true, we have to go inside. The intelligence with which we have scanned the heavens has produced theories and prophesies of extraordinary detail and complexity, but a deeper sense of consciousness, found in silence, is needed to tell us more about the experience of being human.

Being connected. Being a living creature in a living world.

These are things of philosophy and art, and more than that, of personal experience. To read of swimming in the ocean is not to swim. To read of silence is only to imagine the joy.
