On Family

2nd time around is a rare privilege

We come from, and initially outgrow, our first family. We shed skin, spread wings, and find ourselves anew in the hot turmoil of our twenties. And yet the most wonderful turn in life is to become part of, to co-create, a new family, and in doing so, see the old in a fresh, forgiving light.

To understand what it was to be nurtured, by nurturing another. To know, first-hand, the primal and sublime connection of a parent to a child, and to intuit for the first time how powerfully we were loved, before we could even speak.

It is a rare joy to have discovered this in time.
