A list ranking how dangerous things are. A list of ingredients but with everything doubled. A list of old things to take back: black lace, an empty photo album, cobwebs, hands, blue weights. A list of questions to ask. A list of places I visited once. A list of one thing. A list spanning fourteen pages. A list to guess from. A list of the voices in your head and their lists of who to trust and how. A list of steps: from the front door to bedrooms, from the kitchen, from the bathrooms, to the basements, up from the basements across concrete into grass. A list of wifi passwords. A list of possible reasons why they were invited over. A list of lies. A list of the same song over and over again. A list of the things you could do to show you care. A list of things you could do to show you can. A list of things I could do to show I know. A list of memories: forgetting birthdays and anniversaries and first feelings; what this room used to look like; their reflections in that mirror; sneaking out at midnight; what this grocery store used to be called; deleted text messages. An unspoken list of wishes. A forgotten list of chores.
