New Year Recruitment: A Look into Working at A&T Capital
A&T Capital is a venture fund that specializes in early-to-growth-stage investments in emerging disruptive technologies. Led by three founding partners based in Berlin, Singapore, and Shanghai, we are supported by a global dynamic team of researchers and analysts with diverse backgrounds in high-tech, traditional finance, and venture capital. This unique combination of expertise allows us to understand the essential elements required for a startup to succeed. In 2021, we were successful in raising a 100M pool of funds, which we have invested in companies such as Amber Group, Cobo, Gnosis Safe, Nestcoin, Infstones, Consensys, and Commonwealth.

1. Mike Ma, Analyst
Meet Mike, a seasoned expert in the field of layer 1 blockchains and cross-chain bridge technologies. Currently, Mike is pursuing a Master’s degree in Information Systems Management at Carnegie Mellon University where his skills have been recognized with a second-place win in the GovHack Hackathon. Before joining A&T Capital, Mike gained valuable experience as an intern at ByteDance, where he made significant contributions to the development of MedWing, serving as the technical director.
1) Why did you join A&T?
The opportunity to work in the exciting and rapidly-evolving field of cryptocurrency first piqued my interest during a semester-long exchange program at Carnegie Mellon University. I had very limited experience in the industry, but A&T Capital was willing to take a chance on me as a starter, and I saw it as an opportunity to gain valuable hands-on experience in the field. Joining A&T felt like the perfect next step in my career journey.
2) Thoughts and gains from joining A&T
The few months I’ve spent at A&T Capital have been an incredibly steep and rewarding learning curve. The team is incredibly inclusive, with the founding partners taking the time to listen to everyone’s thoughts and ideas, providing guidance and mentorship for our future careers. Each idea is carefully discussed and considered in the decision-making process. Even when a partner had to disagree with my perspective, they would guide me to verify my understanding independently. The leadership at A&T is truly exceptional, and the kind of role models I’ve only read about in biographies and heard on podcasts.
At A&T, I have the opportunity to be open and honest with my mentor, who is approachable and willing to learn alongside me. The systematic training and overseas exchange opportunities for interns are unparalleled. Regardless of whether my internship leads to a full-time position or not, I am incredibly grateful for this experience and the partners I’ve had the privilege of working with. I have learned a wealth of professionalism that extends beyond the technical aspects of “dots, lines, and layers.”
3) A message to interns who want to join
1. Come with an open mind, a sense of wonder for the industry, and a desire to understand its essence. The blockchain is just one technical architecture, and like all technologies, it will evolve and be replaced over time. It’s important to remember that the crypto industry exists for deeper reasons, such as the need for a “free” middle state in the face of capital control and state conflicts, and the need for “protection” in the form of encryption.
2. Show respect for every entrepreneur and approach decision-making from the perspective of a partner. Entrepreneurs and partners have invested time, resources, and reputation into their ventures and hold ultimate responsibility for the results. As an intern, remember that decision-making requires due diligence and a sense of accountability for the outcomes. And regardless of the outcome, we will always strive to support the entrepreneurs who have placed their trust in us, recognizing that there is no separation between entrepreneurship and investment.
3. If you’re new to the industry, focus on one area at the beginning and choose a promising ecosystem to delve deeper into. A solid foundation will help you weather any storm.

2. Liam, Analyst
Meet Liam, an expert in Web3 financial services, PoS Staking, and MEV. Liam is a recent graduate with a Master’s degree in Finance from Shanghai International Studies University. He was first introduced to the world of crypto after buying his first bitcoin during the flash crash of March 12, 2020 and later struck gold in the DeFi Summer. Prior to joining A&T Capital, Liam gained valuable experience as an intern at Guosheng Securities Blockchain Research Institute.
1) Why did you join A&T Capital?
I joined A&T Capital in November 2021 because I was impressed with their active presence in the market and their diverse investments in areas that I was particularly interested in. The firm’s reputation for regularly publishing in-depth research reports also made it stand out to me as a place where I knew I could continue to learn and grow in my understanding of the industry.
2) Thoughts and gains from joining A&T
A&T Capital has been the perfect fit for me as a newcomer in the industry. The dynamic and ambitious nature of the firm has allowed me to grow and improve at an unprecedented pace. The wide range of opportunities for learning, be it through research, project discussions, or post-investment services, have been invaluable in my development. I have gone from being a novice to an independent investment manager in just one year.
Joining A&T has been instrumental in solidifying my understanding of the Web3 industry, building a systematic investment analysis framework, honing various soft and hard skills in communication and research, and most importantly, meeting outstanding entrepreneurs and investors.

3. Shervin Beyk, Investment Manager
Hi, my name is Shervin Beyk, and I am an investment manager at A&T Capital. I received my education in data science at UC Berkeley and have been involved in the crypto space since late 2015. Before I joined A&T, I was a protocol specialist and investment analyst at Binance Labs, as well as the head of growth at an early-stage music NFT marketplace.
1) Why did you join A&T?
I joined A&T because I am passionate about the future of cryptocurrencies and blockchain technology and believe it can revolutionize industries and change the world. As a venture capital fund focused on investing in crypto-native companies, A&T offers a unique opportunity to be at the forefront of this exciting and rapidly evolving space. I was also attracted to the dynamic and entrepreneurial culture at A&T and the opportunity to work with a talented team of professionals who also share my vision and passion for the future of cryptocurrency and blockchain.

After joining A&T, my biggest impression has been the positive and friendly company culture. Also, I like that I’m able to contribute to the growth and success of innovative startups that harness blockchain to solve real-world problems and drive progress. PR Intern
Job Responsibilities
Responsible for formulating and executing A&T Capital’s PR strategy.
Supervise the content management of the company’s various channels (Twitter, media, website, WeChat official account, etc.), and establish A&T Capital’s media influence.
Maintain and expand effective relationships with the company’s media partners and KOLs.
Job Requirements
Familiar with international media channels such as Coindesk and Cointelegraph, and has experience in brand building and public relations.
Confident in written and oral communication skills.
Fluency in English as a working language.
Experienced in the blockchain industry, with a strong sense of responsibility, able to adapt to the rhythm of the blockchain industry.
