Currently on tour with We The Kings, Mayday Parade and The Downtown Fiction, Anarbor returned home recently to play a concert at The Nile. This Arizona band knows how to rock, and rock is what they did. They kicked off the high energy show running around the stage. I chatted with the guys prior to the show where they sang part of The Downtown Fiction’s ‘Out In The Streets’ because it was stuck in their head. Read up on our interview below and make sure to catch the tour in a city near you.

Arin: What brought you guys together as a band?
Mike: Music, by far, we all started out young friends going to local different shows, going to see Warped Tour, Edgefest, all those different concerts and then it was kind of just a natural next thing for us we we’re like we love this, lets try and do this, so we all just picked out our instruments and started it off.
Dave: And I’m new and what-not, but music still brought us together because we were on tour when we met.

Arin: What has been your favorite tour to play on?
Mike: Warped Tour.
Greg: Warped Tour.
Slade: Warped Tour for sure.
Mike: And Japan because that was another world.

A: If you had to pick a big tour or festival to play, which would it, be?
Slade: Isle of White.
Mike: Bonaroo.
Greg: Download Festival.

A: What has been your favorite city so far on this tour?
Slade: Well it’s been like two weeks so it’s still just getting started.
Greg: Chicago was good, Nashville was good, and they’ve all been really fun though.
Mike: Most of them have been selling out, so it’s been really fun.

A: You are playing hometown tonight so what are you most looking forward to being back at home?
Mike: Rocking out for our parents.
Slade: We usually have good fans here too, so it will be a good show.

A: What can people expect to see from you this year?
Slade: A lot of touring.
Greg: New record.

A: What song of the other bands has gotten stuck in your head from the other bands?
All: {sing part of Downtown Fiction’s ‘Out In The Streets’}
Mike: Downtown Fiction, they warm-up everyday to that song so it’s always stuck in our heads, it’s the first song they play every night.

A: If you could pick a charity or nonprofit to work with, because I know those are big on Warped [Tour], which would you choose?
Mike: Dave likes to work with PeTA a lot.
Dave: Yeah, I’m actually working with PeTA right now. I always work with them, I’m a vegetarian, I’ve been one for like twelve years, and so I always like to give back to the animals.
